Senior Ballet

Our founding class, and most popular, is Senior Ballet. This class consists of modified classical ballet exercises and stretches all danced to ballet music. This program is a perfect activity for all fitness level seniors. What makes it particularly unique is it can be taken entirely from a chair or wheelchair.

We’ve had participants with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and dementia who have all enjoyed and benefited from our Senior Ballet program.



For participants who can stand for short periods of time, the class can be taken partially at the “barre” holding on to the back of the chair.

We currently offer this class at senior care centers, independent living facilities, assisted living, rehab centers, 55+ communities, adult day care and local community centers.




Senior Ballet class focuses on:Version 2

  • Gentle stretches for the upper and lower body
  • Breathing
  • Range of Motion
  • Posture
  • Balance
  • Increasing circulation
  • Memorizing patterns of movement
  • Coordination


Vitality-2324By the end of the class, participants feel a freedom of movement in their joints and muscles. Additionally, after a ballet class there is a sense of accomplishment. The cognitive stimulation of combining ballet with classical music allows participants to conclude feeling enlivened, positive and refreshed. Vitality Ballet offers older adults an alternative exercise activity that is fun, stimulating and beneficial.
